Police question person of interest in slaying of 23-year-old Crown Heights woman
Police are continuing to question a person of interest in connection with the slaying of a 23-year-old woman in Brooklyn Bridge Park Wednesday.
They are also searching for a gun used to fatally shoot Michelle Marks Monday night.
Police found Marks lying unconscious on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to her head near the pizza place where she worked. EMS officials pronounced her dead at the scene.
Marks worked at Fornino's Pizzeria at Pier 6. Her family says she was probably ending her shift at the time of the shooting.
The victim's mother, Pauline Marks, says her daughter sent text messages to a friend saying her ex-boyfriend came to her workplace with a gun.
Marks' ex-boyfriend has at least two prior reported domestic incidents. It's believed that he is the person of interest in custody at the 84th Precinct.
