Ex-boyfriend of Crown Heights woman shot in the head near Brooklyn Bridge Park arrested

Police have arrested the ex-boyfriend of the 23-year-old woman fatally shot in the head outside Brooklyn Bridge Park on Monday night.
Police say 53-year-old Lamont Wright has been charged with stalking in the third and fourth degree, criminal trespassing and attempted assault, but has not yet been charged with Michelle Marks' murder.
They say Wright assaulted Marks inside her mother's apartment just one day before she was shot in the head near Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Police found Marks lying unconscious on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to her head near the pizza place where she worked. EMS officials pronounced her dead at the scene. Marks worked at Fornino's Pizzeria at Pier 6. Her family says she was probably ending her shift at the time of the shooting.
The victim's mother, Pauline Marks, says her daughter sent text messages to her current boyfriend the night she was murdered, saying her ex-boyfriend came to her work with a gun.
Wright has at least two prior reported domestic incidents and was convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl in 2007, according to the New York sex offenders registry.
He is expected to be arraigned in criminal court later today.
