Police: 5 teens injured in playground shooting
A gunman shot and wounded five teens in an East Flatbush playground Monday, police say.
It happened around 5 p.m. at Harry Maze Playground near Avenue D and East 56th Street, according to authorities.
Police say the teens were playing basketball and got into an altercation after someone's MCM brand backpack went missing.
Police say one person left the park and returned with a group of other males, one of whom had a silver handgun. The dispute resumed and the gunman fired shots.
The teens were all taken to Kings County Hospital and are expected to be OK.
Sources say the shooter was a neighborhood man in his 20s. Police believe they have identified him.
