Williamsburg community fights for land

Williamsburg residents gathered Friday to fight for the completion of the Bushwick inlet park.
The community unveiled a countdown clock to remind property owners of how long the city's offer will stand to negotiate for the piece of land. The offer will stand for 52 days.
The land community members are fighting for is located in the middle of the property that is supposed to be Bushwick inlet park. Residents say they were promised a 28-acre park in a 2005 rezoning deal.
If the issue is not resolved by July 9, residents and local politicians are planning to do a sleep-in at the space.
