A woman's throat was slashed after a man attempted to rape her in Brooklyn, according to police.
It happened Sunday on Wyckoff Avenue and Starr Street around 5 a.m.
Police say the suspect approached the 25-year-old woman from behind, placed a sharp object to her throat and ordered her to bend over.
The woman screamed for help and a brief struggle occurred before the woman managed to break away, but not before the suspect slashed the woman's neck, police say.
They say the woman ran into a store for help.
She suffered a four-inch laceration on her neck and was rushed to Wyckoff Hospital in stable condition.
Police describe her attacker as being 20 to 30 years old, 5'6" to 5'9" tall, 170 to 190 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black and red baseball cap, a black long sleeve shirt and dark-colored pants.
