NYPD: Escaped prisoner back in police custody

An escaped prisoner is back in police custody, according to the NYPD.

Rhamar Perkins was arrested Monday night and taken to Transit District 32 in Crown Heights.

Officials say that Perkins somehow managed to escape just before 10 p.m.

Perkins turned himself in to police several hours later.

In addition to theft of service, Perkins has been charged with escape. He is the fourth prisoner to escape in the last year.
