Man sentenced to 20 years for 2014 slaying

A man was sentenced Thursday for the 2014 death of a 22-year-old.

Christian Morales was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 20 years in prison with five years probation.

Police say Morales was caught on surveillance video attacking and stabbing Carlos Santos in Cypress Hill.

The district attorney's office says the dispute was over a woman.

Police say Morales fled to Mexico, but was arrested there on a drug charge and was sent back to New York.

In court, Morales apologized to the Santos family, saying that he wish it did not happen and that he is not a violent person but he cannot take back what he did.

The family of Carlos Santos say they are satisfied that justice was served.
