Traffic pattern changes upset Sheepshead Bay residents
Some Sheepshead Bay residents are unhappy with new safety measures from the Department of Transportation.
After a 62-year-old woman was killed by a bus last year, the DOT proposed changes for the neighborhood, including closing East 15th Street to traffic and rerouting the B36 bus to Avenue Z.
Community officials say closing 15th Street will inconvenience drivers, while changing the bus routing may be dangerous for pedestrians.
The DOT says its No. 1 goal is safety.
