Job hopefuls attended the 9th annual job fair at Brooklyn College Tuesday hoping to land work.
Employers at the job fair included the Department of Education, the NYPD and the GAP. Annamae West, of Bushwick, has been searching for a job for a year. She says she used to be a facilities coordinator for JP Morgan Chase and has found it tough to find new work.
Sen. Kevin Parker, who helps organize the event, says a lot has changed in the job market. He says nine years ago it was harder to find a job. He says people are a lot more focused now, adding that many people went back to school to obtain more skills.
West hopes that her skills will help land her a job soon.
