Woman fights off alleged rape attempt
A young woman was able to scare off an attacker in Park Slope.
The alleged incident took place near the corner of Garfield Place and Seventh Avenue around 4:40 a.m. Saturday.
The 23-year-old woman was walking when the suspect came up from behind her, threw her to the ground and began to pull down her pants.
The woman fought back by throwing her purse at the man and he took off.
The incident is the reported second attempted rape in the area within the past week. On June 26, officials say a man attempted to rape a woman on 16th Street in Windsor Terrace.
Police tell News 12 they are unsure if the two incidents are related.
