Simulator spotlights dangers of distracted driving
Brooklyn residents got a firsthand look Saturday at how dangerous it can be to drive a car without having your full attention on the road.
A Coney Island event by All-State insurance involved a car simulator to show how easy it is to get into an accident when a driver is distracted.
In 2014, more than 3,000 people lost their lives in the U.S. to distracted driving, highway officials say.
In New York, drivers who are caught driving while using their cellphones can face large fines and points on their license.
