Bushwick park gets $2.5M overhaul

Heckscher Playground in Bushwick is the latest beneficiary of a city program to revitalize parks in New York.
It received new basketball hoops, swings, sprinklers and other upgrades. There's also a new track and outdoor workout equipment.
For three decades, the space had uneven concrete ground and posed a safety hazard, community leaders say.
The Parks Department says the $2.5 million renovation increased safety in the space and provides a place for community members to come together.
