Woman fights off would-be rapist in Prospect Heights
Police say a woman was able to fight off her would-be attacker early Wednesday in Prospect Heights.
The incident occurred on Park Place near Vanderbilt Avenue around 1 a.m.
Authorities say a man tried to sexually assault a 30-year-old woman, but fled after she screamed and put up a fight.
News 12 is told that the victim described the attacker as a light-skinned male standing about 5 feet, 9 inches wearing a backpack and a backward hat.
The attack is the third attempted rape in the area in recent weeks. There is no word on whether the incidents are connected.
Police say no arrests have been made, but they are looking for a 20- to 30-year-old Hispanic male suspect.
