Brooklyn sweats it out amid oppressive heat and humidity

The heat and the humidity made for a sweltering day in Brooklyn.

Temperatures were in the 80s, and the humidity made for thick and oppressive conditions.

Straphangers could be seen being smacked by the conditions as they exited air-conditioned buses and trains.

Friday is expected to see temperatures in the 90s with a chance of a late-day thunderstorm. Heat index values are expected to hit between 100 and 105 degrees this upcoming weekend.

A heat advisory is in place for Brooklyn through 7 p.m. Saturday.
