Police: 29-year-old woman raped during home invasion in Bushwick

Police are looking for a man they say broke into an apartment and raped a woman in Brooklyn.

It happened Monday around 1:30 a.m. on De Kalb Avenue and Wilson Avenue in Bushwick.

Police say the suspect entered the woman's home using a spare key he found near the moulding of the door.

They say the 29-year-old woman was sleeping when she heard a noise at the door and the intruder approached her with a gun.

They say the suspect sexually assaulted the woman and stole personal items from the home before leaving.

The woman was transported to Woodhull Hospital where she was treated and later released.

Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect, who is described as a 34-year-old man, 6'1'' tall and 195 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
