Police say they are close to making an arrest in connection with a hit-and-run accident that killed two men in Cypress Hills early Monday morning.
News 12 has obtained surveillance video of the incident, which happened around 12:20 a.m. at the intersection of Fulton and Chestnut streets.
Police say they found 41-year-old Delmer Maldonado and 56-year-old Israel Turcios unresponsive and unconscious at the scene, with trauma to their bodies.
Officials say a silver Acura TL sedan, speeding eastbound on Fulton Street, struck the victims. The driver also struck several parked cars before fleeing on foot, police say.
Officials pronounced Maldonado dead at the scene, and Turcios later died at Brookdale Hospital. Maldonado was the father of a 12-year-old son and Turcios had three children, according to authorities.
