East Flatbush park gets new playground thanks to community leaders

Community leaders gathered Tuesday to unveil a new playground at Sam Curtis Park in East Flatbush.

After seven years, community members were finally able to get Brooklyn council members to allot $2.7 million for the new playground. The multi-million dollar price tag bought the park a climbing wall, swings, safety surfacing and a spray shower to name a few of the items.

Although the playground took a year to build, community members say it was worth the wait. They are thrilled local schools and day care centers can bring children to a safe place to play.
