Midwood fire leaves disabled man in serious condition

A two-alarm fire in a Midwood home left a Brooklyn man in serious condition.

Fire officials say the blaze started on the second floor of the two-family home. Firefighters saved the disabled and bedridden man through a bedroom window. Officials say two firemen were hurt putting out the blaze. In addition, authorities say there were seven other people in the house when the fire started.

The Red Cross has placed the tenants in a hotel until they find new housing. Meanwhile, investigators are still searching for the cause.
