Many Brooklyn, city students will be taking more standardized tests this year

Brooklyn students learned Tuesday that they will have to study for a few more standardized tests this school year.

The Department of Education released a new testing schedule that will affect students in grades 3, 5 and 7. The students will be taking two extra exams in math and English in addition to the normal English and math promotional exams.

The two extra tests are being administered by the state and are part of the ?No Child Left Behind Act.? The tests will not have an effect on whether students will move to the next grade level.
