Brooklyn D.A. promises crackdown after third racial attack in less than a month

A Brooklyn man has been released from the hospital after being attacked in what police say is the third hate crime in the borough in less than a month.

Police say 29-year-old Alex Moore was returning from his girlfriend?s house when eight white men started yelling racial slurs and beating the victim with baseball bats and an iron pipe.

The district attorney says once the perpetrators are caught, there will be a swift prosecution where he will seek the maximum penalty of 25 years to life in prison. The D.A. says in incidents involving hate crimes, there are no plea bargains and most charges are upgraded to serious felonies.

So far no arrest have been made in this weekend?s attack.Related Story
