Tenants say Brooklyn landlords make no improvements despite warnings

Half of the landlords on the group Housing Here and Now?s 10 worst landlords list are in Brooklyn

The list, which was released last week, alerted landlords to the deplorable conditions that must be addressed in their buildings. However, tenants at 414 Melrose Street say that although their building has been cited with 30 Class C violations, their landlord, Emmanuel Ku, has done nothing to fix them.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg (R-NY) says the landlords are going to have fix their buildings? problems or the city will take over if the law permits.

Although Ku and other violating landlords were contacted, no one responded.Related Story
