Vacant homes in Sheepshead Bay have some neighbors upset

Owners of eight vacant homes on Banner Avenue in Sheepshead Bay need to take care of their property according to neighbors.

Residents say the vacant lots have not been fenced off and therefore invite several problems. According to neighbors, squatters took up residence in the homes when the utilities were left on. Neighbors of the area also say they have chased kids away who break into the properties

Inspectors from the Department of Buildings (DOB) paid the homes a visit. DOB says they will be issuing unsafe buildings violations. A spokesperson for the homeowners says the owners intend on cooperating.
