Some residents near Borough Park want day laborers to stop loitering near homes

Some residents near Borough Park say they want their peace, quiet and privacy back.

Many residents say hundreds of day laborers loiter near their homes on Fort Hamilton Parkway waiting for a job. The residents claim the workers are standing in their yards and are sometimes unruly, drinking alcohol and urinating on their property.

Many day laborers say they wait in that area because the traffic is high and they get picked up for various jobs everyday. They say the jobs, ranging from construction to moving companies, pay enough to support their families. Many residents say they do not want to prevent the day laborers from looking for jobs, they just want them relocated.
