Seasonal workers in BK escape getting axed after City Council restores park funding
City Council Speaker Gifford Miller and Council Member David Yassky announced Friday that seasonal workers at Brooklyn parks will not lose their jobs. According to Miller and Yassky, in the original budget, Mayor Michael Bloomberg (R-NY) hadn't included $7.3 million for park funding. The City Council, however, was able to restore the funding and add an additional $2 million for hiring park officers. The City Council has also included an additional $800,000 for local park initiatives.
