City officials vote to eliminate parking meters on Sundays in Brooklyn

?The City Council voted 41-3 Wednesday to abolish parking meters on Sundays.

Some Bronx residents felt feeding the meter on Sundays prevented them from spending a leisurely day with their families. Others felt it stopped them from enjoying church services because they kept having to get up and put more money in the meter. On the other hand, opponents say eliminating the Sunday meters will hurt business since people will be able to stay in spots longer.

The City Council said that this is a small way to give back to the average New Yorker.
