Malls that line Ocean Parkway getting a multimillion dollar makeover

The malls that line Ocean Parkway are getting a multimillion dollar makeover by the city?s parks department.

The roadway makeover includes repaved bike paths, new trees and plenty of benches for residents. Ocean Parkway runs six miles and connects Prospect Park with Coney Island. The bike and walk paths run the entire length.

Brooklyn councilmen and the borough president collected $3 million for the improvements. Officials say the last renovation to Ocean Parkway was in the late 1970s.
