Sheepshead Bay residents say the area?s trash problem really stinks

Residents along Emmons Avenue and Shore Boulevard in Sheepshead Bay say the problem in their neighborhood really stinks?literally.

Locals say the garbage building up in the nearby water creates a stench that permeates from Memorial Park to the Belt Parkway and has been lingering for years. Residents say trash pick ups during low tide and in conjunction with dead fish and birds make the fowl odors unbearable.

The Department of Environmental Protection was unavailable to say whether the area is scheduled for a clean-up.
