Bensonhurst residents say they want to see red, yellow and green

Some Bensonhurst residents are fighting the Department of Transportation (DOT) to get the green light for a traffic signal on the corner of 84th Street and 24th Avenue.

Neighbors say the present stop sign at the controversial intersection is ineffective. To enforce this point, residents say cars constantly run the stop sign and put others at risk.

In response, the DOT claims they are investigating whether a traffic light is necessary. They should have an answer by October.
