Residents call for probe after suspect dies during drug bust

Residents at the Wyckoff Houses in Boerum Hill are calling for an investigation after a drug bust by police resulted in the death of a suspect.

Police say during the raid, the suspect began to struggle and swallowed some drugs to stop police from seizing them. Police rushed him to the hospital, where he later died.

Neighbors, however, claim police officers choked and beat the man to death.

Officials say the suspect had a history of drug arrests, but residents still are demanding that an investigation be launched into the circumstances of the man's death.
