Friends and family are remembering the officer who was killed while on duty in Brooklyn.

Investigators say officer Alain Schaberger responded to a domestic dispute call Sunday at 45 St. Marks Place. They say he was escorting 42-year-old George Villanueva when he gained the upper hand and pushed Schaberger over a railing to his death.

According to police records, Villanueva has 28 prior arrests, including burglary and aggravated assault. He now faces a first-degree murder charge and could spend the rest of his life behind bars if convicted.
