Brooklyn Heights burglars find easy targets

Police are investigating a rash of home burglaries in Brooklyn Heights where thieves have apparently targeted unlocked homes.

A representative from the Brooklyn Heights Neighborhood Association says that at least five homes have been hit in the past few days.

The burglaries occurred during daylight hours on Remsen Street, Columbia Place and Willow Street. The robbers gained access to the homes through unlocked doors and windows, police say.

Residents say the string of robberies has rocked their quiet neighborhood. Police are urging residents to be extra cautious and to make sure doors are locked before heading out.
