BK businesses raising funds for better security

After a Brooklyn nail salon was robbed at gunpoint last week, neighboring businesses are coming together to raise money for a security system for the salon.

The owner of the Fulton Express Nail Salon on Fulton Street says men armed with guns burst into his shop last week and pistol-whipped him. He says the thieves terrorized him and other employees for about 15 minutes before taking off with $1,000.

The owner of the salon says the suspects also made off with business certificates that will be difficult for him to replace.

Following the incident, neighboring business owners are now pitching in to raise donations so the salon could have a silent alarm system installed.
