Police call off Coney Island water search after 2nd man found safe

Police called off the search for a possible second body in the water off Coney Island tonight after the man was found safe.

Authorities say the search began after a jogger discovered the body of a 45-year-old man on the beach early this morning. Investigators then spent the day looking for a 23-year-old man believed to have been with the deceased the night before.

Police say they believe the victim, whose identity is not being released, drowned after drinking heavily and going for a swim.

Officials say they do not suspect any criminality.
