Knicks' Stoudemire gets ball rolling on community-center cleanup

New York Knicks All-Star forward Amare Stoudemire today helped the city begin its effort to revamp community centers.

Stoudemire joined Mayor Michael Bloomberg at the Taylor White Community Center in Williamsburg, which is the first of 25 locations getting an upgrade.

The project is headed up by Nike and the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD).

Stoudemire also told kids who attended that while it's fun to play basketball, it is important to hit the books first.
