Barter program brings artists, church together in Williamsburg

A unique barter program, called the Trinity Project, is bringing artists to church in East Williamsburg.

Participating artists say they were offered the opportunity to teach their skills to students at St. Joseph and Dominic Catholic Academy in exchange for free studio space provided by Most Holy Trinity Church.

They say if they had to rent a studio, it could cost up to $300 a month, so they appreciate the barter program.

Participants can also volunteer for community events. They have to re-apply for studio space each year and can only stay for up to two years.
