Police report 450-percent hike in 61st Precinct murders

Police are reporting a drastic spike in murders around the borough's 61st Precinct. Since this time last year, the precinct has had a staggering 450-percent increase in murders. Police have reported nine murders this year, including three that took place in Sheepshead Bay over the weekend.

The chair of the community board says she is working closely with the precinct, and that police are working diligently on each case. She says she believes the spark in murders stems from isolated incidents.
