Annual Memorial Day parade held in Bay Ridge

Thousands of Brooklyn residents lined the streets of Bay Ridge today for the annual Memorial Day parade.

This year marked the event's 144th anniversary, making it what organizers say is the longest-running Memorial Day parade in the country.

The route started on 3rd Avenue and snaked through Marine and 4th avenues before ending in John Paul Jones Park. A wreath-laying ceremony, flag raising and 21-gun salute were included in the parade's closing ceremonies.
