Community wants answers over neglected condo project

The Homecrest community says it wants answers over a neglected condo project on Ocean Avenue that it says has become a neighborhood eyesore.

The Ocean Avenue construction site was supposed to be home to Cascade Condominiums, but it's fallen into disrepair since the Department of Buildings put a stop work order on the property.

A spokesperson for the department says the owner racked up 10 violations and $74,000 in unpaid fines. It says the company has been unresponsive and has ignored city orders to fix the problems.

News 12 Brooklyn reached out to Cascade Condominiums for comment, but was unable to reach anyone.
