2 sent to hospital after police car slams into truck

Two officers were sent to the hospital after a police car crashed into the back of a flatbed truck in Brooklyn today.

The accident happened at the corner of Richards and Verona streets in Red Hook. According to witnesses, the police car had been speeding without its lights or sirens on when it hit the truck, which had just stopped at a stop sign.

The air bags in the police car deployed, sending both officers to the hospital. The truck driver was not hurt.

The truck driver said that the cops admitted the accident was their fault.
