Residents, firefighters rally to keep engine company open

A Brooklyn firehouse is fighting to save its engine company that is threatened to be closed due to the mayor?s proposed budget.

Firefighters, residents and community leaders are calling on the city to save Engine Company 271 on Himrod Street in Bushwick.

Neighbors say closing any fire company will compromise the lives and safety of Brooklyn residents.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg's budget is expected to be released on Monday.
