Volunteer ambulance company helps BK residents after blizzard

A volunteer ambulance organization is helping Brooklyn residents during the aftermath of this week's blizzard.

Today, the Bay Ridge Ambulance Volunteer Organization (BRAVO) rushed to Marine Avenue and Ridge Boulevard following an emergency call that a man had suffered a seizure while helping a neighbor dig out her car.

BRAVO managed to arrive on the scene before EMS and assisted firemen with the patient before rushing him to Lutheran Hospital.

The volunteers say they were able to get there faster because they know the neighborhood better.

The volunteer company says it is able to maintain free services from donations it receives.Blizzard slams Brooklyn with snow and high winds
