Godmother: 4-month-old girl dies following Bed-Stuy fire

The godmother of a 4-month-old girl pulled from a burning building in Bedford-Stuyvesant this afternoon says she has died from her injuries.

Officials say the fire started on the first floor of 521 Green Ave. at around 1:30 p.m.

Fire crews say when they arrived, they found Felicia Vaughn struggling to find a way back into the burning building to try and rescue her daughter, Aniah.

They say the front entrance was engulfed in flames, but were able to enter through the back of the building and pull the girl out.

Aniah was pronounced dead at Cornell Medical Center.
