Crews removing tree that struck Bay Ridge home

Work crews returned to Bay Ridge this morning to continue clearing a tree that cracked during yesterday's storm and crashed onto a home at 79th Street and 6th Avenue.

The two-story home of the Composto family sustained heavy damage when part of the tree pierced the dining room window. No one was hurt.

Homeowner Rob Composto says he was worried the tree would shift overnight and cause even more damage.

"Thank God the tree didn't move at all," he says.

Composto says the tree is expected to be removed by the end of the day.
