The early bird gets the deals this holiday
While most Brooklyn residents spent the day working their way through a Thanksgiving feast, some early bird shoppers hit the stores in search of pre-Black Friday bargains.
Stores like Old Navy on Flatbush Avenue remained open until about 8 p.m. Thursday, and then reopened their doors at midnight for the Black Friday crowds.
Other stores, such as Toys 'R' Us, opened their doors at 10 p.m. to attract bargain-hunters looking for pre-Black Friday deals.
A recent survey by the National Retail Federation found that this year, one in six shoppers wanted to hit the stores on Thanksgiving, compared to one in 10 shoppers last year.
