Straphangers rally for MTA to fix broken escalator

Brooklyn straphangers are rallying for the MTA to repair a broken escalator at a busy subway station.

Local leaders and residents say the escalator at the High Street train station has been broken for a month and a half. They say senior citizens, the disabled and mothers with strollers have been struggling on the steps each day.

Signs hanging in the station say the escalator will be fixed by Wednesday, but the MTA says it could be repaired as early as tomorrow.
