GOP takes control of U.S. House
Power in the U.S. House of Representatives is shifting back to Republicans after an overwhelming showing by GOP candidates on Election Day. Republicans, aided by candidates who identified with the tea party movement, picked up more than 60 seats in the chamber, which will now have a new leader, Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio). "It's clear who the winners are tonight, and that's the American people," Boehner said. The U.S. Senate remained in Democratic hands despite GOP gains.
