More money could be in store for 9/11 rescue workers
A judge has decided to award World Trade Center rescue and recovery workers $47.5 million from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. More than 9,000 workers filed the lawsuit over health problems suffered after 9/11. The settlement is pending approval from the Port Authority's board, which meets on Oct. 21.
The workers are also eligible for another settlement with the city, but 95 percent of the workers must agree to it.
