Brooklyn residents celebrate Kwanzaa
People in Brooklyn are celebrating Kwanzaa this week, a holiday that lasts for seven days.
One family in Crown Heights decorates a Kwanzaa table with fruit, candles and a cup that relatives drink from to show their unity. The items all stand for pride, self-determination and creativity.
A woman who has been taking part in the holiday says Kwanzaa has opened up to many more communities since it started in the 1960s, not just the African-American community.
Kwanzaa will continue until Friday this week.
