Court delays rezoning of Broadway Triangle
A New York Supreme Court decided Tuesday to delay the rezoning of the Broadway Triangle until March and now a community group is filing a lawsuit.
The decision came 24 hours after the City Council approved the rezoning and land transfer of the area that is located between Flushing Avenue, Broadway and Union Avenue.
Some say that the city gave away rights to develop the land in an unfair process.
"It is unacceptable that projects like the Broadway Triangle, which has been cited for discriminatory practice, exclusiveness, eminent domain and poor planning, have been fast tracked," Brooklyn Councilwoman Diana Reyna says.
