City orders owners to clean up Homecrest site

Owners of a condominium construction site in Homecrest have been ordered by the city to repair the property that residents have called hazardous.

Homecrest residents say they opposed the development of the area from the start, but the owners have neglected to fix a gaping hole, cracked sidewalks and an unstable fence for four years.

Community members say the site is an eyesore in the residential neighborhood and they would have preferred if the developers built two-family homes in the area instead.

Though the emergency repair order has been issued, it is unclear if the owners have a deadline.
